Loft mansardé
This exceptional living space stands out through a bespoke design, developed to answer changing housing needs, particularly with the rise of working from home. The loft concept was reinvented to suit the demands of the home office, now an essential part of our way of life. The emphasis is on creating flexible living and working spaces adapted to evolving professional needs.
In approaching the renovation of each space, the aim is to push boundaries and reveal the hidden charms of the place. This is how the decision was made to showcase the timber roof structure of this loft, even though it was not originally meant to be visible. This choice gives the space a unique authenticity and character, in contrast with the initial dark and compartmentalised layout.
Despite the structural complexity of this roof structure, altered during an extension of the building, the cramped spaces and limited heights were rethought to offer an unexpected spatial generosity. The layout was designed in an artistic way, adding a creative dimension to this renovated environment.
Brightness holds a central place in these designs. Taking natural light into account to create welcoming and inspiring spaces is essential. Each project is carefully studied to maximise natural lighting, thus offering a luminous and pleasant experience.
The flexibility of the plan allows a versatile use of the spaces, for a personalised living experience. The cleverly designed enfilade arrangement encourages fluid and harmonious circulation. Moreover, this loft enjoys an optimal exposure, offering varied views over the surrounding neighbourhood and making the most of natural light throughout the day.
Particular care was given to the energy retrofit in this project. Beyond improving the thermal envelope, a specific underfloor heating system was installed to ensure optimal thermal comfort while minimising energy consumption.
